Julie Smith-Belton is a visual artist working in watercolour, acrylic, ceramic sculpture, digital illustration and graphic design. Whimsy, quirky humour and playful creativity are the common themes that run throughout her works.
Her childhood was spent in the KwaZulu-Natal countryside, on the east coast of South Africa where the days were simple and full of sunny, outdoor adventure. After school, she went on to study fine art & then graphic design. She is a published illustrator of books and short stories aimed at children. She has also been an active contributor to the Book Dash initiative which aims to improve child literacy in low income countries.
Roskilde is her current home where she lives with her husband and four children.
